The Oscars go online!

The Oscars are  going online and are planning on using social networking sites to try and engage the viewers more with the nominees.
Here's what some of the organisers of the Oscars are saying:

Oscar organisers have unveiled their "you're invited" slogan for the upcoming show, detailed a web-friendly ceremony and invited the nominees and their mothers to tweet on Hollywood's night of nights.
To make people feel they are "invited", Jinks and Mischer plan to show much of the program "through the eyes" of co-hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway.
The producers want the nominees to play a more active part in the show, talking to cameras behind the scenes that will be streamed live online.
The producers also urged the nominees and mominees to engage with the audience via social networking sites.
"We would really urge you to think about creating emotional and meaningful speeches. Those are the ones that work," Mischer said.

"Speak from the heart. Pulling out a list has just been proven over and over again to be quite boring."

The Academy Awards will be handed out at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood at the end of the month.
